BEIJING – One week is officially in the books at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and Canada has secured 13 medals (one gold, four silver, eight bronze), which is tied for fourth with Russian athletes.
The Bow Valley's contingent continues to be a presence on the world stage and is fighting for top results.
Biathlon: Biathlete Christian Gow flew to an Olympic best 12th place in the men's sprint on Saturday (Feb. 12).

Gow shot a blazing 10-for-10 in the 10 kilometre race and was 1:15.1 off the pace of the winner Johannes Thingnes Boe of Norway.
"I really wanted to deliver a strong race and I feel so proud that I did tonight," Gow wrote on social media. "Thank you everyone that helped me get here, excited for another chance tomorrow."
All the Canadian men finished in the top-35 with Jules Burnotte taking 29th (8/10), Scott Gow in 34th (8/10) and Adam Runnalls taking 35th (8/10).
On Feb. 11, Emma Lunder finished 32nd in the women's biathlon sprint.
Shooting nine-for-10, Lunder finished the 7.5 km race 2:03.3 behind first place's Marte Olsbu Roeiseland of Norway.
Canada’s Megan Bankes was 77th (7/10), Sarah Beaudry was 80th (8/10), and Emily Dickosn was 81st (7/10).
Cross-country: Canada's women skillfully skied into ninth place in the 4X5km relay on Saturday.
The team of Dahria Beatty, Katherine Stewart-Jones, Olivia Bouffard-Nesbitt and Cendrine Browne finished at a time of 57:20.9 – barely edged out by Italy, which clocked in at 57:20.5.

The top 10 finish was an improvement from PyeongChang 2018 when the Canadians finished 13th overall.
On Feb. 11, Olivier Leveille was the top Canadian man in the 15 km classic ski, finishing 29th at a time of 40.52.0.
Finishing in the top 40 were Remi Drolet at 33rd and Antoine Cyr in 37th.
