“I expect more of myself,” said the 30-year-old Read who'll compete at a second Olympics. “I’m an older athlete and expected to produce and stuff like that, I think that’s what it to boils down to and have to use my sports psyche. [2022 Beijing] really kind of comes down on the more nitty-gritty details versus PyeongChang where I was just kind of soaking in the whole experience and [was] also there to do some ski racing.”
Representing alpine, the technical and speed events, are Erik Read, Trevor Philp, James (Jack) Crawford, Broderick Thompson and Brodie Seger for men. Marie-Michèle Gagnon, Cassidy Gray, Valérie Grenier, Ali Nullmeyer, Erin Mielzynski, Roni Remme, Laurence St-Germain and Amelia Smart for women.
Wearing the Maple Leaf for ski cross are Kevin Drury, Reece Howden, Jared Schmidt and Brady Leman for men. Courtney Hoffos, Brittany Phelan, Hannah Schmidt and Marielle Thompson for women.
Canmore athletes Jeff Read (alpine) and Kris Mahler (ski cross) have been named alternates.
The 2022 Beijing Olympics are from Feb. 4-20.
