Calgary police say they are investigating the death of a 91-year-old woman who was found in freezing temperatures outside a long-term care home in the city.
Police say they were called to Cedars Villa Extendicare on Monday at about 4:45 a.m. for reports of a missing person.
They say a 91-year-old woman was found outside in the grounds of the facility.
Police say the woman was treated by paramedics for exposure to the cold, but she died a short time later.
Calgary police says investigators are working with staff at the facility to determine the circumstances around the resident's death.
Cedars Villa Extendicare was not immediately available for comment.
