New COVID-19 case in N.L. is man who returned from work in Alberta

ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — Newfoundland and Labrador is reporting one new case of COVID-19.

The case is a man in between 20 and 39 years old in the province's central health region.

The Public Health Department says the case is travel-related and the man returned to the province from work in Alberta.

The department says he has been self-isolating since he arrived and contact-tracing is complete.

Newfoundland and Labrador has now had 283 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and there are nine active cases in the province.

The department said Sunday it was watching the ongoing outbreaks in New Brunswick and that there were no current plans to leave the "Atlantic bubble."
