EDMONTON — The RCMP say a person is dead after a three wheel cycle collided with a pickup truck Sunday evening just west of Edmonton.
Police issued a release that says the incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. in Parkland County on Highway 16 at Highway 779.
The release says the driver of the cycle died at the scene while the pickup driver wasn't injured.
Police say that while alcohol is not believed to be a factor, their investigation is ongoing.
The name, age and gender of the deceased are being withheld pending next of kin notification.
The highway is currently open for travel.
