Man and woman killed in single-vehicle crash in northeastern New Brunswick

PONT-LANDRY, N.B. — A single-vehicle crash earlier today in northeastern New Brunswick has claimed the lives of a young man and woman. The RCMP say a 27-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, both from Tracadie, N.B., were killed around 3:20 a.m.

PONT-LANDRY, N.B. — A single-vehicle crash earlier today in northeastern New Brunswick has claimed the lives of a young man and woman.

The RCMP say a 27-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, both from Tracadie, N.B., were killed around 3:20 a.m. when the driver lost control and the vehicle flipped several times as it left Route 160 in nearby Pont-Landry, N.B.

Both occupants were ejected from the vehicle.

Mounties from Tracadie and Caraquet were dispatched to the scene near George Road.

The  woman died at the scene and the man was taken to hospital, where he later died.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist has been called in to help with the investigation.
