Man shot by Halifax police officer, taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries

HALIFAX — A man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after Halifax Regional Police shot him Thursday night. Police say officers responded to an alleged stabbing around 10:15 p.m. in the 100 block of Plateau Crescent.

HALIFAX — A man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after Halifax Regional Police shot him Thursday night. 

Police say officers responded to an alleged stabbing around 10:15 p.m. in the 100 block of Plateau Crescent.

They say that when officers approached a man, he pointed a gun at them.

Police say that an officer shot the man in response.

The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries. 

The shooting has been referred to the Serious Incident Response Team, the independent police oversight agency.
