New Brunswick RCMP investigating two homicides after bodies found in burned vehicle

CHIPMAN, N.B. — New Brunswick RCMP say they are investigating two homicides after the bodies of two people were found inside a burned out SUV in Chipman.

CHIPMAN, N.B. — New Brunswick RCMP say they are investigating two homicides after the bodies of two people were found inside a burned out SUV in Chipman.

Police say they responded Monday to a report of a vehicle fire off Midland Road in the community located about 80 kilometres northeast of Fredericton.

When officers arrived at the scene, police say they found the bodies of two people inside a white Chevrolet Equinox that had been consumed by fire.

No other information about the victims was released.

The RCMPs major crime unit is leading the investigation and is treating the deaths as homicides.

Police are asking anyone who lives near the area, or who may have been travelling through the area between 8 p.m. on Nov. 24 and 8 a.m. Nov. 25, to contact them with any information, including security camera or dashboard camera footage.
