HALIFAX — Police in Halifax are accusing a man of breaking into a woman's home and sexually assauting her as she slept.

RCMP say they responded to a 911 call from the Terrance Bay area today at 6 a.m.

The female caller told police a man she knows had broken in and started touching her while she was sleeping.

The woman said she raced to a bathroom and locked the door but the man broke in.

She told police she managed to escape and call 911.

RCMP officers arrested the 58-year-old suspect at a nearby home and later charged him with sexual assault, break and enter and mischief.
