On Dec. 2, 2023, at 1:30 a.m., Airdrie RCMP received a report of a theft and shooting at a rural property on Township 304 near Linden. Investigation reveals that the victim observed suspects in two vehicles stealing gas from his rural property. When the victim approached the suspects with his vehicle, the suspects fled in their vehicle. As the suspects fled, one rammed the victim’s vehicle. Simultaneously the victim’s vehicle was struck by bullets fired by one of the suspects.

While RCMP investigate, we are cautioning homeowners about the dangers of approaching suspects who are committing offences.” RCMP officers are specifically trained and equipped in dealing with the hazards of interdicting suspects while they are committing crime, “says Sgt. Greg Tullock of the Airdrie RCMP,” when you see a crime in progress your first action should be to call the police.”
Airdrie RCMP GIS and Crime Reduction Units as well as the Southern Albert Crime Reduction Unit are supporting the investigation.
