Former St. Albert Raiders goalie Matt Murray earned his first career National Hockey League shutout with the Dallas Stars on Monday night.
Murray stopped all 23 shots he faced from the Minnesota Wild, earning his second career win in just his fourth big-league appearance.

The 25-year-old netminder made his NHL debut with the Stars last season. Leading up to Monday's game he had been playing for Dallas' American Hockey League affiliate, the Texas Stars.
Through the first part of the 2023-24 season with Texas, Murray won eight of his 13 starts, and held a solid 2.86 goals against average and 0.908 save percentage.
Prior to turning pro near the end of the 2021-22 season, Murray played five seasons for the University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass Amherst) Minutemen.
