CALGARY — Alberta's United Conservative Party says the legislature member who once compared transgender children to feces is rejoining caucus.
Jennifer Johnson was a party candidate for Lacombe-Ponoka leading up to last year's provincial election.
She was kicked out after a recording of her making the remark was made public.
Johnson has been sitting as an Independent since she was elected and is to sit with the UCP when the legislative assembly reconvenes Oct. 28.
The party says Johnson has grown as a person and recently met with a number of LGBTQ+ Albertans and advocacy groups.
Five groups Johnson met with later denounced the meetings in a joint statement.
