Sirius XM just announced St. Albert country artist Hailey Benedict is the 2023 winner for their Top of the Country competition.
The battle for supremacy was performed at Country Music Week in Hamilton, Ontario on Thursday, Sept. 14 at the Music Hall. Also vying for top spot were Noah Derksen and Teigen Gayse.
A prominent emerging star in the West, Benedict nailed it with her latest release, Damn You July, a song about a bittersweet summer marked by love and loss.
The Sirius XM prize includes $25,000 and national recognition.
