ST. ALBERT - St. Albert is now serving as the designated reception centre in Alberta for thousands of Northwest Territories evacuees who are fleeing the fires ravaging their communities
On Aug. 15 the territory government announced evacuees would be moved to St. Albert while the battles burn in the north.
All evacuees who are in Grande Prairie or en route by vehicle to Grande Prairie will be moved to the St. Albert reception centre at Servus Place.
