Calgary massage therapist charged with choking assault

A Calgary massage therapist, Lev Borthsov, 61, has been charged with one count of assault by choking.

A Calgary massage therapist, Lev Borthsov, 61, has been charged with one count of assault by choking.

According to the Calgary Police Service, (CPS), It is believed that the massage therapist has been practicing with an expired licence from May 2015 to January 2023.

On Jan. 30, 2023, a victim received a massage at her home located in the northwest community of Varsity, during which, it is believed that Bortsov strangled the victim. The victim then lost consciousness.

Bortsov is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 8, 2025.

The investigators of this case encourage Bortsov’s clients who have received his massage services between May 2015 to January 2023 to come forward with information that might help the ongoing investigation.
