Authorities believe the incident took place on Monday, Aug. 29, when a man was forcibly confined to a vehicle by several other men.

The Calgary Police Service (CPS) are looking for the public's help via dash cam footage in locating a vehicle that is believed to have been involved in a violent, targeted assault of a Calgary man last week.

According to a CPS press release, the authorities believe the incident took place on Monday, Aug. 29, when a man was forcibly confined to a vehicle by several other men.

"The victim was physically assaulted in the vehicle as the group travelled from Calgary to Airdrie and eventually back to Calgary where the victim was released," the press release stated.

After being released from the vehicle, the victim reported the assault to police. He was then treated at hospital for his injuries and was later released.

CPS stated investigators believe the incident was targeted, but are still investigating to determine the motive behind the attack.

"As a result, police are asking for the public's help to locate the vehicle believed to have been used by the suspects during the assault," read the release.

The vehicle is described as a 2010 silver SUV with tinted windows. CPS states investigators believe the vehicle pulled over on the shoulder of the northbound lanes of Highway 2, just south of Yankee Valley Boulevard., between 9:10 and 9:15 p.m. on the night of the assault.

Police are looking for dash cam footage from anyone who was travelling in either direction on Highway 2 between Calgary and Airdrie on Aug. 29 between 9:10 and 9:15 p.m.
