ST. PAUL - The 2024 Sentinel Storage Alberta Scotties Tournament of Hearts is getting closer and preparations are taking place to welcome the top eight women's curling teams in Alberta to St. Paul.
On Jan. 8, the competition rocks arrived in St. Paul - a crucial piece to ensure the tournament runs smoothly.
Excitement is building in the community, according to St. Paul Curling Club President Troy Bohn.
"There is an exciting vibe around town, and ticket sales have been amazing," said Bohn.
The 2024 Sentinel Storage Alberta Scotties Tournament of Hearts is set to take place from Jan. 24 to 28 in St. Paul. The Clancy Richard Arena will be transformed into a curling rink for the first time ever.
The first draw is set for Jan. 24 at 6:30 p.m., with opening ceremonies taking place beforehand at 5 p.m. Finals will take place on Sunday.
Organizers are also still looking for some extra help with volunteer tasks. Those interested in lending a hand throughout the event can visit the Alberts Scotties website and follow the sign-up link to put their name down for a job.
