A case of COVID-19 has been confirmed at Leo Nickerson Elementary School's out of school daycare program in St. Albert.
St. Albert Public Schools issued a notice on their Facebook page on Sunday confirming the positive case.
Families and staff of the daycare and the school have been notified, and all affected daycare staff and students will isolate for two weeks.
The post does not specify whether the positive case involved a student or staff member.
"Our thoughts are with the person diagnosed, but also with the families and staff at the daycare and school, as we know how stressful this is for everyone," the post reads.
"We will be taking extra cleaning steps tomorrow throughout the whole school, and classes will resume on Tuesday as usual. We thank #AHS for their support, guidance and quick action."
SIGIS Child Care Society is listed as the provider of after-school childcare services for Leo Nickerson students.
