BARRHEAD — A 49-year-old male resident of Edgerton, Alta., was found dead inside a semi-tractor and trailer unit that collided with a home near the Town of Onoway on Nov. 20.
According to a release, Parkland RCMP, Lac Ste. Anne Fire and EMS responded to the collision at approximately 4:40 p.m. The residence in question was located on Range Road 23A south of Township Road 545.
The driver of the semi-tractor unit was found deceased inside the vehicle once emergency crews were able to get to him.
Fortunately, the two occupants of the residence were not injured, as they were in a different part of the home at the time.
The RCMP collision analyst attended the scene to assist with the investigation. Initial indications show the driver may have suffered a medical event which led to the collision.
The RCMP’s investigation continues and police await the results of an autopsy from the medical examiner’s office.
