Edmonton man's body recovered from Moose Lake after falling from sea-doo

A two day search has recovered the body of a drowned Alberta man

BONNYVILLE - A 32-year-old Edmonton man drowned in Moose Lake on Aug. 4. The victim was reportedly on a sea-doo wtih another individual when both fell off the watercraft and he failed to resurface.

Bonnyville RCMP received a report of a potential drowning in the lake at 11:58 a.m. on Aug. 4.

An extensive search which included the Bonnyville RCMP, Alberta Search & Rescue teams, RCMP police dog services, and an RCMP drone located the man deceased under water on Aug. 5 at 5:22 p.m. RCMP report the victim was not wearing a life jacket.

The deceased is at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy, while the investigation continues, according to an RCMP media release.

RCMP expressed their “heartfelt condolences” to the family and friends of the deceased.
