Female skier taken from Banff area ski resort to Calgary hospital in critical condition

A female skier was taken to hospital in critical condition after a skiing incident at Sunshine Village Ski Resort Sunday (April 20).

BANFF NATIONAL PARK – A female skier was taken to hospital in critical condition after a skiing incident at Sunshine Village Ski Resort Sunday (April 20).

Paramedics and STARS Air Ambulance responded in the afternoon to the ski incident.

Shane Paton, a spokesperson for Alberta Health Services emergency medical services, said Banff paramedics and STARS responded at about 2:15 p.m. to Sunshine Village Ski Resort.

“Paramedics treated an adult on scene who was then transported to hospital by STARS air ambulance,” he said.

Kate Langille, a spokesperson for STARS Air Ambulance, said they responded to the call and took the woman to Foothills Medical Centre in critical condition.
