A 45-year-old man has been arrested after police found a large amount of stolen property and stolen firearms in an industrial bay.
On May 13 at 6 p.m., Hinton RCMP were notified of a break and enter.
Following an investigation, a search warrant was written for the industrial bay where police discovered over $75,000 worth of confirmed stolen property as well as stolen firearms, ammunition and prohibited weapons.
Police arrested a male, finding 25 grams of methamphetamine, 40 grams of cocaine and 15 grams of fentanyl on his person.
Michael Moore, 45, of Hinton was charged with the following offences:
- Possession of stolen property under $5,000
- Possession of stolen property over $5,000 (x5)
- Uttering threats
- Possession of weapon obtained by crime
- Possession of firearm with tampered serial number
- Unsafe storage of firearm (x3)
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm (x4)
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (x3)
Moore was taken before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody.
He is scheduled to appear in Hinton court on May 21.
