Diamond Valley Fire Rescue performed a rope rescue to bring a stranded dog walker to safety over the long weekend.
A person became trapped on a steep embankment along the Sheep River near Diamond Valley at about 6:15 p.m. on Aug. 31, said a social media post made by the fire department.
The individual was walking her dog when the pair ended up on the steep slope and were unable to safely get down.
The person was located with the help of a drone and was brought to safety by fire department rope rescue technicians.
Fire Chief TJ Moore said the individual was not injured but was shaken up from the experience, and the dog was also not hurt.
Firefighters were able to perform the rescue. A Foothills Search and Rescue Team also responded, Moore said.
