Southbound Highway 2 is open to traffic hours after a fatal semi-truck crash early this morning.
RCMP said they responded to the single-vehicle crash on Highway 2 near 722 Avenue at about 4:30 a.m. on Aug. 14.
A semi overturned, spilling its load of ammonium nitrate. Highway 2 southbound was closed for over 12 hours as crews responded to the crash and worked to clean up the spilled material.
The driver of the truck, a 31-year-old male, died at the scene.
Additional information has not yet been provided, but RCMP earlier extended their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
