Two children who were allegedly abducted by their mother have been found safe.
Surrey RCMP say Joshuah and Aurora Bolton were located on Saturday night at 7:20 p.m and are safe.
Cpl. Vanessa Munn says police recognize that many people have been following this investigation closely since the Amber Alert was issued.
“We sincerely appreciate the assistance from the public, media, community and policing partners, who all played an important role in helping to safely locate the children," says Munn.
The Amber Alert was issued for the two children on July 19 after they were not returned to their father in Surrey.
The children, ages eight and 10, were on a planned camping vacation near Kelowna with their mother. When they did not return home to their father on July 17 they were reported missing the next day.
Verity Bolton, the children’s 45-year-old mother, was believed to be travelling with her father and her boyfriend. Police have identified her father as Robert Bolton, 74, and her boyfriend as Abraxas Glazov, 53.
The provincewide alert involved ground and air searches for the group.
Surrey police were able to confirm the vehicle the group of five was travelling in was a blue 2012 Dodge 2500 pickup with the B.C. licence plate SJ2708. Police also told the public to be on the lookout for a number of trailers they had access to including a horse trailer, a travel trailer and a fifth wheel.
Police have not released any details about where the children were located. They have also not said if Robert Bolton, Glazov or Verity Bolton were located.
The family of Robert Bolton says they have spoke to him and that he is safe as well.
Munn says more information will be provided to media on Sunday.
