A Bonnyville elementary teacher who is already facing charges of sexual assault and sexual interference involving a minor in Bonnyville, has now been arrested In Wainwright on a child luring charge in that community.

On Oct. 26, at approximately 2 p.m., Wainwright RCMP received a report from a concerned family member of a youth.

“This youth had been speaking to an unknown female, on a messaging application, who was attempting to lure the youth and his friends to her hotel room,” states an RCMP media release.

As a result, Janelle Maisie Arnold, 35, of Bonnyville was charged with invitation to touching, child luring and failure to comply with a release order.

She has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Wainwright on Nov. 7 to face these most recent charges.

On Sept. 6, following an investigation in Bonnyville, RCMP arrested Janelle Arnold and at that time charged her with sexual assault and sexual interference involving a minor following a complaint by concerned parents alleging “inappropriate contact with a student by a teacher." Arnold was a teacher at Duclos School at the time.

Arnold was released on order with conditions following her first arrest.
