A 47-year-old Okotoks man has been killed after his pickup truck was struck by a train in Foothills County.
High River RCMP were dispatched to a report of a collision involving a pickup truck and a train at 176 Street East on Feb. 4 at 9 a.m.
Police say a witness to the collision reported that the driver of the truck proceeded across the tracks when the train, unable to stop in time, struck the pickup on the passenger side.
The driver was declared deceased at the scene.
The police investigation is continuing.
Police offered condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
