A GoFundMe campaign created to support the family of a St. Albert teen who died of injuries after an attack in Edmonton has raised $10,605 in under a day.
The campaign's fundraising goal was set to $10,000.
On Tuesday evening Edmonton police responded to an incident at 137th Avenue and 184th Street, where they found 15-year-old Lorne Akins student Broden Radomske injured. Police and paramedics attempted to save his life, but he died at the scene. Police arrested a man shortly after the incident, and they have charged Keith James Landry, 40, with second-degree murder.
"As a parent community, we have started this fundraiser to help support Broden Radomske's grandmother and family during this incredibly difficult time," the GoFundMe campaign reads. "We know we cannot take their pain away, but hopefully we can help take away some of the financial burden while they try and absorb this tremendous loss."
