RCMP charge man after he cuts down residential tree and leaves it on car hood south of Calgary

FOOTHILLS COUNTY, ALTA – A 25-year-old man was arrested after cutting down a Heritage Isle resident's tree and putting it on the hood of a vehicle. 

The complainant called Foothills County RCMP Dec. 28 around 1:30 a.m. to tell them about the man's suspicious behaviour. 

Police were able to find Colton Emery Knowles of Calgary and he was arrested without any incident. 

He was charged with three counts of wilful damage to property and possession of a dangerous weapon.

Knowles has since been released and is set to appear in Okotoks Provincial Court on Feb. 11.
