Fort Saskatchewan police say that since the release of two suspects arrested on December 30 in relation to a string of property crimes in Lamont County, more of the same crimes have been reported to police.
Keiran John Gork, 31, and Courtney Gutoski, 34, both residents of Lamont County, have each been charged with a variety of offences, including possession of property obtained by crime, being unlawfully in a house, and failing to comply with release orders. The pair was released from custody after their arrest by a Justice of the Peace on conditions to appear in Fort Saskatchewan’s Alberta Court of Justice on January 11.
Fort Saskatchewan RCMP say they responded to reports of suspicious activity on a rural property near Lamont just after midnight on December 30. The Alberta RCMP Auto Theft Unit and a police helicopter were also part of the investigation that located two suspects at a residence on the property. Police say the initial investigation recovered two pickup trucks, a utility trailer, and several stolen license plates.
Further similar incidents
In a January 9 statement to media advising of the arrest and release, Fort Saskatchewan RCMP provided additional information, saying that "since the release of the accused back into the community, there have been further similar incidents reported."
RCMP are continuing to urge area residents to report any suspicious activity in their community.
