ST. ALBERT, Alta. — A high-risk sex offender has been charged again with an offence against a St. Albert minor.
On Tuesday, the St. Albert RCMP announced Donald George Dupuis, 42, is facing charges of sexual assault and sexual interference related to historical sexual assault allegations brought forward this February.
Dupuis was given a high-risk offender warning when he was released in April 2020, after he served 12 months for sexual interference.
Dupuis's release into the community was contentious and sparked days of protests outside of his St. Albert home, which was on the same block as the victims home.
Dozens of protesters gathered outside of his home to try to remove Dupuis from the neighbourhood. He eventually moved to Edmonton, where he now lives.
Dupuis was arrested for the charges and later released on bail.
He will appear at the St. Albert provincial court on Aug. 15.
