On Wednesday, Aaron Sluchinski's Alberta team claimed back-to-back wins at the 2024 Montana's Brier over Quebec and Northwest Territories.
The two wins brought the team back to a winning record at 4-3 and propelled them to within striking distance of a Pool B playoff spot.
Alberta currently sits one place back of Prince Edward Island for the third and final playoff spot, with their final game coming today against a Brad Gushue-led Canada team.
A Sluchinski win and a PEI loss to the Northwest Territories will give both teams an identical 5-3 record, however, PEI may hold the tie-breaker over Alberta. Sluchinski's team suffered a loss to PEI on Monday.
Thursday is the final day of pool play at the Brier, with playoff spots being determined by the end of the day. The top three teams from each pool will play in the playoffs which will carry into the weekend.
