More than 25,000 fans took to the Showpass ticketing website yesterday (Feb. 5) to purchase pre-sale tickets for the new Spruce Meadows Concerts, causing temporary technical delays that have now been resolved.
A number of customers reported receiving error messages as they attempted to buy pre-sale tickets to see Leon Bridges, City and Colour (Solo), Dean Brody, Metric and Brett Kissel this summer at Spruce Meadows.
The related web pages are now functioning as normal, and those who received the exclusive code for the pre-sale, which runs until tomorrow (Thursday) night at 11:59 p.m., can once again visit sprucemeadows.com/concerts for the remaining limited number of pre-sale tickets.
The majority of tickets to see Leon Bridges, City and Colour (Solo), Dean Brody, and Metric — each performing in the historic Equi-Plex with a crowd of just 2,000 — will officially go on sale on Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. Tickets for Brett Kissel’s Canada Day performance will also be available at that time.
Representatives from both Spruce Meadows and Showpass apologized for the inconvenience.
“The enthusiasm for the pre-sale tickets ahead of the new Spruce Meadows Concerts has been incredible,” said Linda Southern-Heathcott, president and CEO of Spruce Meadows. “Unfortunately, as sometimes happens with this extraordinary level of demand, our ticketing service provider became temporarily overwhelmed.”
“The overwhelming response to the Spruce Meadows Concerts pre-sale is a testament to the excitement Calgarians have for these incredible performers coming to our hometown,” said a spokesperson for Showpass.
