A St. Paul RCMP officer has been remanded into custody and is facing a charge of child luring following an investigation which occurred after he was initially charged in April with possessing, distributing and accessing child pornography.

“In mid-June 2024, the Alberta RCMP’s Eastern Alberta District General Investigative Section began an investigation into an adult male soliciting sex with underage females online,” according to an RCMP media release.

“After a brief investigation, Cst. Evan Peacock (33) of the St. Paul RCMP has been charged with one count of luring a child and one count of failure to comply with release order conditions."

Peacock had been previously released on conditions stemming from April 2024 Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams’ charges of two counts of possessing, distributing, and accessing child pornography.

“Peacock remains suspended with pay, stemming from April’s charges, and has now been remanded into custody. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 4, 2024, at the St. Paul Court of Justice.”

According to the RCMP statement, Peacock has been with the RCMP for three and a half years.
