Charges have been laid in relation to a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant executed at a residence in Airdrie March 22.
During the search of the residence member of Airdrie’s Crime Reduction Unit found a hand gun, cocaine, fentanyl, and cash.
Nathan Appiah Dwumaah, a 20-year-old resident of Airdrie, was brought before a Justice of the Peace and released on $250 cash bail with conditions.
He has been charged with the following:
- Possession of a restricted firearm without a license
- Possession of a weapon contrary to an order
- Possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl) for the purpose of trafficking
Dwumaah is scheduled to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Airdrie on Mar. 28, 2024.
Rahma Shafei, a 18-year-old resident of Airdrie, was brought before a Justice of the Peace and released on a $500 Promise to Pay with conditions.
He has been charged with the following:
- Possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl) for the purpose of trafficking
Shafei is scheduled to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Airdrie on April 18, 2024.
The Airdrie RCMP would like to thank the public for their co-operation while the police operation was completed.
The original report on March 22 stated there was a large police presence in Airdrie as a part of a police operation. Airdrie RCMP, along with the RCMP’s Emergency Response Team executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant at a residence in Airdrie’s South West. Residents noticed police presence in the area but there was no risk to the public.
