CANMORE – Two elk were killed when hit by a motorhome on Palliser Trail in Canmore Monday morning (Dec. 30).
The two adults and the children in the vehicle escaped without major injury, according to the Town of Canmore.
Canmore Fire-Rescue was quick to respond.
“The team reported that no major injuries to the vehicle passengers were sustained and everyone was ambulatory,” said Town of Canmore spokesperson Nicky Pacas.
“RCMP requested that fire-rescue check on the elk; both were deceased.”
RCMP worked with Volker Stevin to remove the elk from the area.
