Bowden is getting its website updated

Project should be completed by about mid-October

BOWDEN — The town is hoping to have its website updated within a week or two, officials said.

The work, spurred by the town’s economic development committee, has been in the works for roughly two months, according to Greg Skotheim, Bowden’s chief administrative officer.

“We’re in the final stages of development, so we’re looking at mid-October, I think. We’ll be launching that to the public,” he said during an interview.

The goal is to make the website easier for people to navigate, he said, adding it will also have a town of Bowden app.

The revamping is being done by All-Net Municipal Solutions from Winnipeg.

Skotheim said they were chosen because they “met the criteria.”

When asked if any companies from Olds were asked to bid on the job, Skotheim said no.

“We narrowed it down to three. There was a company out of Blackfalds, then All-Net Solutions. We had five submissions," he said.

Skotheim was asked if the Winnipeg firm’s bid was the cheapest.

“No, I wouldn’t say that. We had criteria. They’re all relatively similar. There were some that were quite a bit more expensive and the rest were in that criteria,” he said.
