BOWDEN – Olds RCMP are asking for public tips after the Canada Post office in Bowden was broken into twice last week.

Sometime on the night of Feb. 5 or morning of Feb. 6, unknown suspect or suspects entered through the front public entrance of the building at 2036 – 20 Avenue and broke into several mailboxes and into the main office area, according to police. An unspecified number of mail and parcels was then stolen.

Four days later, on Feb. 10, police were again called to the facility after unknown suspect or suspects broke into multiple mailboxes, stealing mail.

“Due to increased security measure put in place since the first incident, thieves did not gain access to the main office area,” said Olds RCMP Const. Statchuk.

Police have not said whether they believe the same suspects were involved in both break-ins.

Anyone with information about either break-in is being asked to call Olds RCMP at (403) 556-3324 or Crime Stoppers or online at p3tips.com or using the P3 Tips app.
