CARSTAIRS - The annual Silver Willow Sporting Club Toy Drive generated numerous donations for the community.
During the Winter Classic shotgun shooting event near Carstairs, members -- including retired Calgary firefighters -- donated toys and cash to purchase other toys for local kids.
This year about $3,500 worth of toys and cash were brought in, says club owner Gwen Day.
“We are always thrilled and thankful to see the level of participation and generosity,” said Day.
Members of the Carstairs Lions Club were also involved, collecting and distributing the toys, she noted.
