CARSTAIRS - Dozens of Carstairs Figure Skating Club members performed for a full house at the Carstairs Memorial Arena on Sunday for the organization’s year-end carnival.
The afternoon event had the theme ‘Journey to Space’ with many of the skaters dressed up in space-themed costumes.
Solo performances were made by Danica Copley, Avarie Rosteski, Honour Terpstra, Emily Hannah, Isabelle Sykes, Paige Bilou, Sierra Guthrie, Hayley Glass, Hannah Glass, Grace Bauer, Kendra Dowden, Holly Rosteski, Kaylee Schwartz, Emersyn Falloon, Makenna Fuhriman, Harper Simpson, Kiera Dowden, Izzy Wilson and Brooke Bednarz.
Performer and performances included the Solstice Pre-Novice team skating to Only Murders in the Building, The Purple People Eaters, Rocketman, Space Cowboys, The Jetsons, Beginner Synchro, and Men In Black.
Others performers and performances including Solstice Juvenile, Avatar, Starships, Solstice Elementary, Sailor Moon, Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Trek, Venus, Buzz Lightyear, and Solstice Novice.
The show concluded with a finale featuring all the skaters.
Coaches this year were Jenna Cullum, Ashley Ijtsma, Amber Dubitz, Andrea St. Cyr, Charlsey Whittemore and Callie Manko.
Organizers thanked all those involved who made the show a success again in 2024.
