CREMONA - Cremona 4-H Club members are keeping busy these days, with the annual Carstairs and District Show and Sale coming up next month and a celebration planned for June to mark the club’s 70th anniversary.
4-H is a great activity for kids and parents alike. Youth, aged nine to 21 years, are given a massive amount of opportunity, not just within the agriculture industry.
Opportunities include community involvement, volunteering and even club fun days as well as raising our own animals.
Cremona 4-H Club offers a wide variety of projects, like our lamb and beef projects. We have both female and market projects. The female projects are a wonderful opportunity for members to grow their own flocks and herds.
Our market projects are a great way for youth looking to make and save some money. The Cremona 4-H Club even has projects if taking care of animals isn’t something you are interested in such as outdoor education and welding.
Our market and female projects will be at the Carstairs and District Show and Sale. May 22 is the show for our female projects. Our market projects are shown and sold the following day, on May 23.
Both days will be at the Carstairs Memorial Arena, beginning at 9:30 a.m. The sale of the market projects will begin at 6:30 p.m. We would like to extend an invitation to our community to come out to our show and sale and support our members. This might also be a great opportunity for your kids to decide if a 4-H club is something they would like to be a part of.
On another note, the Cremona 4-H Club is celebrating its 70th year in 2023. Alumni, we are calling you and your families to help us celebrate such an amazing feat on June 16 at the Madden Community Hall.
Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. with entertainment to follow. Don your club uniform and shine up your boots. More information about how to RSVP will be available shortly.
If you are interested in more details about the club, our show and sale, or the 70th banquet, please do not hesitate to e-mail our club at [email protected] .
Our leaders and committees do an excellent job at running the club and would be happy to answer your questions.
