MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY - County council has approved $20,000 in grant funding for playground upgrades at Cremona School.

The Cremona School Enhancement Society has spearheaded the playground upgrade project, with a total projected cost of $75,545.20.

As of last month, the society has garnered funding from various other sources, including the Village of Cremona ($5,000) and Cremona Lions ($10,000).

The society is a registered non-profit that raises funds for activities and capital projects at the Cremona School.

The county’s $20,000 contribution will be funded from the cash-in-lieu municipal reserve.

The plan is to have construction on the playground underway this summer, council heard.
