Qualicum Beach, B.C. seniors killed in Highway 22 collision

CREMONA – Two Qualicum Beach, British Columbia seniors were killed in a collision north of Cremona Saturday and another person was injured.

On Aug. 3 at 4:34 p.m. Didsbury RCMP received a report of a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 22 at Range Road 303 north of Cremona, police said in an update issued Sunday afternoon.

“Upon arrival, emergency workers tended to the occupants of one of the vehicles, a Toyota Corolla, however both occupants died at the scene,” police said in the Aug. 4 update.

Police said the deceased have been identified as a 76-year-old male and a 75-year-old female both residents of Qualicum Beach British Columbia.

“The driver of the other vehicle, a Ford F350, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” police said.

RCMP remained on scene for several hours conducting an investigation.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
