DIDSBURY - There has been a confirmed COVID-19 outbreak at Bethany Didsbury continuing care facility, with positive cases identified among six employees, company spokesperson David Ghoris said Tuesday.
None of the residents at the facility have tested positive for the disease, he said.
Under the facility’s outbreak protocol and at the direction of Alberta Health Services, the employees with cases of COVID-19 are self-isolating at home and will not return to work until cleared by public health, he said.
Located at 1201 - 15 Ave., the facility has implemented a series of outbreak processes and protocols, including enhanced cleaning protocols, physical distancing directive for shared space and common areas, and mandatory temperature checks and health screening for everyone entering and re-entering the site.
A single workplace policy for all Bethany employees has also been put in place.
An outbreak is declared when at least one resident or staff member tests positive for COVID-19.
