DIDSBURY - In a recent monthly report to council, the Town of Didsbury's chief administrative officer gave updates on the use of several municipally-owned facilities.
“The Didsbury Aquatic Centre has continued to see significant usage, with public swims, swimming lessons and fitness programs being in high demand,” said Ethan Gorner. “We look forward to July when six newly-certified lifeguards will join our staff and begin their training with the Town of Didsbury.
“Once orientation and training has been completed, we will finally return to pre-COVID staffing levels and schedules.”
Regarding the Rosebud Valley Campground, he said, “Bookings opened on April 1 and it has been consistently busy throughout Q2, with one-third of 2022 revenues having been achieved by the end of June. Poor weather conditions have affected some use areas of the campground, but the caretakers are working to ensure limited impact to our visitors.”
The town has a new Family and Community Support Services coordinator, Ryan Shokoples, and a new communications coordinator, Lisa Bastarache, he noted.
Council accepted Gorner’s report as information.
