DIDSBURY - About 1,500 people of all ages attended last weekend’s Didsbury Trade Show, the first held in five years, says committee chair Diane Steer.

Held on April 6 and 7 at the Didsbury Memorial Complex, the event featured approximately 80 vendors from the town, district and beyond.

“Everybody was very pleased,” said Steer. “The vendors seemed very happy and excited that we were back for the first time since 2019. Saturday was very, very busy and Sunday a little quieter.

“What impressed me most was what a family-friendly event it was. Vendors were very impressed with the number of times they saw people greeting each other after seeing each other for the first time in five years. There were lots of big hugs.”

Exhibitors included everything from home-based business, local shops and stores, community groups and organizations, financial services, realtors, elected officials and many others.

There was also numerous well-received musical performances, including the finale of the Country Star Search presented by 96.5 CKFM.

“It was fantastic entertainment,” she said.

The show was spearheaded by a group of businesses working in conjunction with the Didsbury and District Historical Society.

Steer said work will soon get underway on planning a 2025 trade show.

“We hope it will expand next year and we are planning to go forward with a show next year,” she said.
