DIDSBURY - After a lengthy search, the Town of Didsbury has hired a new chief administrative officer (CAO). Taking over the role of CAO for the town is Ethan Gorner, who will begin on Jan. 6.
Gorner's previous municipal government experience includes six years as CAO of Improvement District 9 (Banff National Park) and nine years as director of planning and development in Raymond.
Didsbury council began the recruitment process in September after the departure of former CAO Harold Northcott.
"Council was patient and selective in the process of our CAO recruitment," said Mayor Rhonda Hunter in a press release. "We were very fortunate to have the services of Tony Martens and Amanda Riley to fill the role of interim CAO while the recruitment process was taking place. This afforded council the time to carry on with business as usual, while taking the time to find the right CAO for Didsbury."
Hunter is confident in council's selection and is excited to start 2020 with new leadership for the town in place.
"We look forward to working with Ethan in his new role," she said.
