DIDSBURY - The Didsbury Municipal Library's Summer Reading Club came to a close in recent weeks.
This summer's theme was Game On! Each week children explored and learned about all kinds of games from sports and card games to video games.
The Summer Reading Club is a free program suggested for children ages five to 12 aimed at encouraging literacy, creating community connections, increasing accessibility, and indigenous inclusion.
Part-way through the seven week program, the library was able to offer in-person programming with appropriate COVID-19 pandemic protocols in place.
Forty-five families registered for the program this summer, with 135 kits sent home and more than 400 responses in the reading log.
Children were encouraged to read 30 minutes a day and were introduced to age-appropriate books and graphic novels.
