DIDSBURY - The 31st annual Didbury Show & Shine Fuel-A-Palooza was a resounding success last weekend, with hundreds of cars, trucks and other vehicles of all vintages on display, say organizers.
“We are extremely happy,” Didsbury Car Club president Tim Floyd told the Albertan. “We had great community responses, a good turnout and fantastic weather. It all went off without a hitch.”
Organizers estimate between 3,000 and 4,000 people attended this year’s show on May 13. Weather conditions were ideal, with sunny skies and mid-20 temperatures.
The Bob Taylor Memorial trophy went to Dave Laporte, the first place car was owned by Rick Barber, the second place car was owned by Matt Anslet, and the third place car was owned by Helen Morin.
More than two dozen volunteers made the show possible.
“We could not do this event without the help of our volunteer and local business support we receive,” he said. “We are very grateful for the community that we live in, and a big shout out to Adam (Johnston, public works foreman) with the Town of Didsbury for all the support with logistics."
The Didsbury Car Club was established in 2013.
