DIDSBURY - New fees -- some increasing and some decreasing -- are effective Jan. 1 for municipal users of Town of Didsbury's services.
Town council has approved 2024 utility charge fee adjustments for solid waste, water and wastewater, with both increases and decreases approved.
Regarding wastewater service charges, the infrastructure fee - connection with meters one inch or less is $9.15, up from $8, for one-and-a-quarter to two inches $36.65, up $3.41, and for three inches and over $82.55, up from $74.78.
Wastewater distribution rate is $150 per cubic metre, up from $1.47, and the wastewater distribution rate is $24.10 per month, up from $23.62.
Regarding solid waste service charges, the 2024 solid waste service monthly fee is $19.75, down from $20.90, the additional black bin (garbage) charge is $7 per month, the additional blue bin (recycling) is $4.65, the additional green bin (compost) is $2.25, the replacement bin cost of $110 remain unchanged.
The fee for added green bin is $15 per, and the one-time rebate for purchase of composter (proof of local purchase required) is a $50 utility bill credit.
Regarding water service charges, the bulk water charge is $6.50, up from $6, the infrastructure fee - connections to meters one inch or less is $18.15 per month, the fee for one-and-a-quarter to two inches is $72.50 per month, and the fee for three to four inches is $163.15.
The water consumption rates is $3.25 per cubic metre, the water distribution rate is $1.50 per cubic metre, the water meter testing deposition is unchanged at $200, and the water disconnect/re-connect fee is unchanged at $100.
Utility penalties on overdue balances remains at 1.5 per cent, printed utility bills are $2 per month, and one-resident account deposits remain at $200.
